I founded Velo Classic Tours with the goal of creating a different style of cycling travel for both the experienced cyclist and discerning traveler. EPIC CYCLING
All of our itineraries take you directly into the heart of European cycling: the Alps of France and Italy; the river valleys and mountains of Austria; the hills of Tuscany and the Basque Country; the cobbles of Flanders and the forests of the Ardennes. Our race viewing trips offer the chance to see The Spring Classics, The Giro d'Italia, the Dauphine Libéré, and the Giro di Lombardia. Cycling with us means flexibility- we pay attention to your ability and monitor your daily needs so you get the most out of your rides. Our individualized approach offers you the optimal cycling experience on your terms. How do we do that?

-Small groups. We take a maximum of 15 persons. We are cognizant of various cycling abilities, and each of us provide constant attention to ensure your well-being.

-Multiple ride options. We provide two routes daily so you're free to choose what suits you.

-Fully-equipped van service We provide constant support with food, water, nutritional supplements, clothing, and of course, a free ride.

-Easy directions. Clear, concise route cards offer you the option of self-guided riding.

Our personal relationships and extensive network within the sport puts you in the care of the locals, and has you riding alongside some of the biggest personalities in cycling, including Scott Sunderland, Marcel Wust, Andrea Tafi, Claudio Chiappucci and women's star Olivia Gollan.

 

AUTHENTIC CULTURE

It's our belief that exploring the essence of European culture and life makes for a richer and more fulfilling travel experience.  It is as equally important to us to visit a historically significant site as it is to ride a specific race route or climb a famous mountain. We personalize each of our itineraries with cultural highlights, whether it's a wine tasting, a private cooking class or a visit to a remote corner of town to view a painting by Jan van Eyck or a sculpture by Michelangelo.  Again, we call on our extensive network of local knowledge to bring in personal guides for tours of some of the most historically significant sites in the world, including the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Salzburg and Vienna.
